About Me

I’m a 39-year-old male living in New Zealand.

When I started this blog I wasn’t sure how it would go or if it would even last. Its output comes in fits and spurts which are partly due to my mood but also having something relevant to write about. I think the point of this blog is twofold. As a vehicle for me to express my opinion on news and events that in some way touch me or that I feel strongly about. The other is to allow my literary creativity to run rampant. OK, that may be taking it a little too far, but I have found an enjoyment in the writing and am eager to see how far it will go.

I don’t promise that the writing will be any good and may make English teachers cry due to my bad grammar, syntax, punctuation etc. But please believe me that I am trying to improve. In fact, all my on-line dating profiles seek women who find proof-reading a turn-on, but unfortunately no takers yet.

Being a bit if an introvert I enjoy the way that the blog gives me the freedom to express myself openly in a semi-anonymous way. But I also believe that the internet is no excuse for a lack in basic human decency. It should all be about humour and not hate. I’m here to inform, engage, entertain and just have some fun.

  1. Hello,

I am interested in New Zealand. If possible I would like to visit it before I shuffle off to the next stage of whatever.

Will read more of your blog with the idea of learning more about NZ.

    • Thank you Thomas for my first ever comment. You gave me the idea to look inwards for things to write about instead of merely looking out to the rest of the world.

  2. Hey,
Just read your post and I’m about to head home to NZ after 14 years in Europe! Was great to read about your insights on how we are percieved in the international media – gave me a laugh.
I will also continue to read your posts with interest…just to see if I’m really making the right idea in heading home :) .

  3. Hi Nicholas, only found this post of yours today but been missing your blogs. Are you ok? Freezing here today, so I am working in bed to keep warm but trying to find interesting things to do while on my computer.

    • Thank you very much… and I do really mean that. I’m my own worse critic (so far) and sometime feel I’m a monkey banging at a typewriter. I do try but like everyone else I can’t judge properly from this perspective. :)

  4. Take twelve whole months.
Clean them thoroughly of all bitterness,
    hate, and jealousy.
Make them just as fresh and clean as possible.
Now cut each month into twenty-eight, thirty, or
    thirty-one different parts,
but don’t make up the whole batch at once.
Prepare it one day at a time out of these ingredients.
Mix well into each day one part of faith,
one part of patience, one part of courage,
    and one part of work.
Add to each day one part of hope,
    faithfulness, generosity, and kindness.
Blend with one part prayer, one part meditation,
    and one good deed.
Season the whole with a dash of good spirits,
a sprinkle of fun, a pinch of play,
and a cupfull of good humor.

Pour all of this into a vessel of love.
    Cook thouroughly over radient joy,
    garnish with a smile,
    and serve with quietness, unselfishness,
    and cheerfulness.
You’re bound to have a happy new year.

  5. Great blog, don’t worry about being an introvert it just means you shield yourself from the harsh reality more so than others.

I’m visiting NZ for the first time in June ironically, so your post about winter and warm quilts will be apt by then i am sure.

Something funny for you to ponder – you wrote about literotica and poetry themes – why not an erotic alphabet instead?? That way you don’t have to write about incest, bestiality or non English hawtness.

    Cheers

    G

    • An erotic alphabet? Hmmm… That definitely sounds like something I’d explore.
A is for anal as long as there’s lube
B is for bouncy and bountiful boobs
C for “Beep” word, you can’t say on TV
      D for desire of her “A” “B” and “C”

Probably not what you had in mind but I sometimes get carried away. :)
